Say, there's this 'writer' on Fanfiction.net who writes Beyblade OC Fan Fictions who I resently got into a fight with. I found this so-called writer on Youtube, she had made a fan fiction trailer. Which is fine, but what really got under my skin was the fact that she used OTHER PEOPLE'S ART FOR HER ORIGINAL CHARACTERS. Yes, she STOLE art. So, I commented on her video, telling STEALING ART WAS WRONG. And this was her reply, "No it's not. I got them off of a public website. They choose to post their artwork there. I can use it. I'm not claiming it as my own. THAT would be art theft. Me just using them for this IS NOT! If it will make you feel better I'll say this: All rights reserved to the original artists!" If her statment is correct, then people can steal all the photos others post on the net without any wrong doing. Its not an unknown fact that people often STEAL other's things, wiether its in reality or cyber-reality. To her last statement, I replied again, telling her its still wrong and just because someone posted it online doesnt make it okay to take it without permission. Her reply, "*Exasperated Sigh* That is not how my characters look EXACTLY. I didn't copy EVERYTHING! I only found the same hair color and/or eye color. My OC's do not look EXACTLY like that so it's not stealing. If I wanted to do that, I'd ask the artist yes. But I'm not stealing. SO GET OFF MY CASE!" I replied once again to this young lady, this time I was alittle rude. I can admit I was rude, because it personally pisses me off because as an artist, I think its wrong to TAKE other's things. I replied, "Psh, you're only 14 what do you know? Next time give proper credit." Days passed with out a response. So today I went on to see if she had commented without me recieving an e-mail. I found this. ----- Comment deleted by user ----- What do you know, a coward. --==Miss Neko==-- |
